Join the Melbourne High School Bequest Society

MHS Bequest Society members share the dreams of Melbourne High School and its students and help enable their visions of success.

Bequests have played a vital part in the growth and success of Melbourne High School over many years.

The MHS Bequest Society exists to honour the individuals who have chosen to make a bequest and  thus become an important part of the school’s history.

Choosing to include Melbourne High School in your Will is a very personal and special form of support.
As an Old Boy, a gift in your Will, whether large or small, is one way to give back to an organisation that helped you become the person you are – the best person you could possibly be.

What a wonderful opportunity to play a part in the future of the school and its pupils, helping to ensure that the students yet to come have the same valuable opportunities and networks available to them that you had both at school and since your graduation?

A gift in your Will can take many forms – cash (either a set amount, a percentage or residual) or assets and can be directed as you wish. Options such as the Health & Wellbeing program, rowing, the Arts and Cultural Trust, to the school itself for general purposes or maybe the MHSOBA are all possibilities for your consideration.

My bequest is an expression of gratitude to a remarkable principal and staff who opened my eyes to a world of learning far beyond the dictates of the curriculum.

Please help us pave the way for the new generation of tomorrow’s leaders by supporting Melbourne High School Foundation Campaign. You don’t have to be a past student or teacher to be part of our future.

How can I make a bequest & ensure that it is put to best use?

Leaving a gift in your Will to the Melbourne High School Foundation General Trust can be done easily and simply. To ensure that your Will fulfils your intentions it should be drawn up by a solicitor or trust company. If you already have a Will, a solicitor can simply add an appropriate codicil. We recommend you use the following wording:

“I bequeath to the Melbourne High School General Trust for its general purposes (the whole) or (a specific amount or gift) or (a percentage) or (the residue) of my Estate free of all duties, and I declare that the receipt of its Treasurer or other Authorised Officer shall be sufficient discharge to my Executor and my Executor shall not be bound to see to the application of this bequest.”

We are always grateful to those who have included the Foundation in their Will, in whatever form they have chosen.

If you wish to support the Campaign directly by making a financial contribution, you can
