Rowing Project

The Rowing Centre

Melbourne High School is one of only three Victorian State schools to offer a comprehensive rowing program, a sport otherwise dominated by private schools. MHS also has one of the oldest rowing programs in Victoria and celebrated its centenary in 2013. Ironically, MHS rowing has lacked a permanent home for all this time.

The School has a once in a lifetime opportunity to build a rowing facility on the banks of the Yarra River in partnership with Wesley College, but the project will require $1.5 million. So far, modest funds have been raised through the Australian Sports Foundation, MHS Rowing Fraternity and MHS Parents & Friends, but further support is urgently required to bring the project to fruition.

$400,000 of $1.25 million

We are making progress! Our journey towards giving MHS rowing a permanent home is well on the way. Please help us meet our target of $1.25 million so that we seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a rowing centre with a community room at Como Park.

Please help us complete this vital project by donating to the Rowing Centre. Donations of $5,000 or more will be recognised on a Donor board at the centre.

Please contact the Melbourne High School Foundation if you would like to donate.
